My New Shape Ford Fiesta Finesse, 1.4 TDCi

This Page is about my 1.4 TDCi New shape Ford Fiesta Finesse. I bought it from my local Ford Dealership, GK Ford. Its an ex-demonstrator, bottom of the range finesse model, with a fair higher than average mileage for being only 6 months old at the time I bought it in January 2003, I got it for a reasonably good price. I did negotiate a CD player into the deal as it only had a stereo radio cassette fitted, GK Ford agreed to fit a new CD player stereo system free of charge.

First impressions - Great Stuff!!!
I am very impressed with the car in general, performance and handling. The New Fiesta is a vast improvement on the older Shape Fiesta's. For a 1.4 diesel engine, 68BHP, it does go remarkably well it is pretty responsive, there is no turbo lag at all with even acceleration right across the rev range. In comparison, side by side, it does perform pretty well against the older Ford 1.8 turbo diesel engine of 75BHP rating as fitted to the older Ford Escort's & Sierra's (non intercooled versions). For a small car, you'd expect it not to be very motorway friendly, but the new fiesta is in its elements cruising down the motorways quite comfortably at any speed and will hold 100mph+ with ease. The handling has dramatically improved.

January 2004 - After owning the car for a year, I have now traded the fiesta in on a Focus TDdi estate, I think the Fiesta TDCi has to be one of the best cars I have ever owned. The reason for the swap is because I have a family, I travel a fair bit and the fiesta wasn't quite big enough, the focus estate allows a much larger luggage carrying capacity. I managed with the fiesta with a roof box which was a life saver to fit all our gear in, though I can recommend having a Fiesta TDCi.
This site will continue to stay online indefinitely for the foreseeable future. I have enjoyed building this site over the last year and I hope people enjoy looking at the site as it makes it all worth while.
Fiesta-tdci.co.uk evolved into a site of it's own after being so big but it is still officially part of Turbo-Diesel.co.uk web site
